How to Upload Music to Amuse: Step-by-Step Guide

Everything you need to know about uploading your music and getting your release ready for streaming platforms.

Ready to get your music out into the world? Here's how to upload your release to Amuse, step by step.

Before you get started

Make sure you have everything ready to go:

  • Your music: WAV or FLAC files in stereo, 16 or 24-bit, with a sample rate between 44.1 and 192 kHz.

  • Your artwork: A square JPG or PNG image, ideally 3000 × 3000 pixels. Check our artwork guidelines before uploading.

  • Your release details: Track titles, artist names, and credits for everyone involved.

Got everything? Let's get started!

Create your release

1. Add your release title. This is the name of your single, EP, or album. If you're releasing one track, the release title will usually be the same as your song title. Keep featured artists and versions out of the title and add them in their own fields instead. Here's more about release titles.

2. Add your record label (optional). Don't have a label? No problem! We'll use your primary artist name automatically. If you're on Professional, you can add a custom label name.

3. Upload your artwork. Choose the image you want listeners to see when they discover your music. Make sure it follows our artwork guidelines.

4. Add your tracks. Choose how many songs you want to include in your release:

  • Single: 1–3 tracks

  • EP: 4–6 tracks

  • Album: 7 or more tracks

Add your track details

5. Upload your audio. Select the file for your first track.

6. Add your track title. If it's a remix, live recording, instrumental, or another version, choose the right version from the available options.

7. Tell us what kind of track it is. Choose whether it's an original recording, remix, or cover song.

8. Mark explicit content. If your track contains explicit language or content, make sure to mark it correctly.

9. Add the recording year. This is the year your track was recorded, which isn't necessarily the same as its release year.

10. Choose your genre. Pick the genre that best fits your music.

11. Add your ISRC (if you have one). Released this recording before? Use the original ISRC to help keep your streams connected. If it's a brand-new recording, we'll create an ISRC for you.

12. Set up YouTube Content ID (if eligible). Content ID can help you earn revenue when your music is used in videos on YouTube. Availability depends on your subscription and whether your music meets the eligibility requirements.

13. Add your artists. Include any featured artists, additional primary artists, or remixers.

14. Give credit where it's due. Add the songwriters, producers, and other contributors who helped bring your track to life.

15. Save your track. Adding more songs? Just repeat the process for each one.

Choose where and when your music goes live

16. Pick your stores. Choose the streaming platforms where you want your music to be available.

17. Choose your countries. We recommend worldwide distribution unless you have a reason to limit your release to certain regions. Some cover songs may require additional licensing.

18. Double-check everything. Take a moment to review your artwork, audio, artist names, and release details. Getting these right now can help avoid delays later.

19. Choose your release date. You can release your music as soon as possible or pick a date that works for you.

If you're scheduling a release, here's how far ahead you'll need to plan:

  • Artist: 14 days

  • Artist+: 10 days

  • Professional: 7 days

Want your music to go live at the same time worldwide? Select Everywhere at the same time to choose a specific release time on supported platforms. Learn more about Timed Releases.

20. Submit your release! Happy with everything? Hit Submit Release, and we'll take it from there. Our team will review your music before sending it to stores.

What happens after I submit my release?

Once your release has been approved and delivered, each streaming platform will process it before making it available to listeners.

Processing times vary between platforms, so your music may appear at different times if you've chosen to release it as soon as possible.
