Sometimes releases need to be re-uploaded, for example, if they have outdated metadata or if you’re doing a catalog transfer between different distributors. To make the process as smooth as possible, we put together a quick checklist for you.
Keep in mind that it is not possible to make changes to releases with outdated metadata; the release needs to be re-uploaded.
Before you re-upload a release, make sure you have everything you need in the right formats:
The artwork must be a perfect square with a size between 1400x1400px and 6000x6000px in .png or .jpeg. Read more about artworks here.
Audio file(s) have to be WAV or FLAC, sample rate at 44,1 kHz up to 192 kHz, stereo, and 16 or 24-bit. The file name must end with .wav or .flac.
Have both the artwork and audio files available on Dropbox, iCloud, or Google Drive if you are uploading through the Amuse mobile apps.
Make sure to gather your original ISRCs; they’re listed in your Amuse release overview.
Audio that has a resolution exceeding CD quality (16-bit, 44.1 kHz) is considered high-resolution (Hi-Res) and is exclusive to our Artist Plus and Professional plans. We deliver Hi-Res Audio to stores that support this feature, including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and 7Digital.
You can read more about Hi-Res here.
Here are some things to keep in mind specifically when re-uploading a release that has already been live:
Reusing the same metadata, including ISRC, will enable your release to keep most of its DSP data, such as stream count.
Get the credits on each track to follow the format required in the release app flow.
Add the same artists, release, and track title(s) that you’ve used on the previous upload.
If your track is a remix of somebody else’s original song, make sure to add yourself as remixer, not as a main/secondary primary or featuring artist.
