Want to move your music to Amuse? Our Release Importer makes it easier to bring over releases that are already live through another distributor, while giving you the best chance of keeping your streams and playlist placements.
Note: Release Importer is currently in Beta and only available to select users. If you don’t see the option in your Amuse account, you don’t have access just yet.
Here’s how it works:
Import your release
Go to Release → Import Release in your Amuse account and choose the artist and release you want to import.
Your release needs to be live on Spotify. If you can’t find it in the search, just paste the Spotify album link instead.
We’ll pull in the available release details for you, including things like your cover art, titles, artist info, ISRCs and original release date.
You’ll just need to upload your audio and fill in anything missing.
Keep everything matching
This is the most important part.
To give stores the best chance of recognizing it as the same release, make sure these details match the version that’s already live:
Release and track titles
Track order
Artist and featured artist names
ISRCs and original release date
Audio files
Songwriter and contributor information
Always keep the original ISRCs for tracks that have already been released.
Once everything looks right, submit your release and we’ll review it before sending it to stores.
Don’t take down the old release yet
Wait until the release delivered by Amuse is live and the stream counts have matched before asking your previous distributor to take down their version.
You might see two versions on Spotify for a little while. That’s normal and gives Spotify time to link the two deliveries.
Once the stream counts have matched, you can request the takedown from your previous distributor. Playlist placements can take a little longer to sync after that, so give them some time.
Good to know
Release Importer works one release at a time, and compilation releases aren’t currently supported.
Multi-disc releases can be imported via Release Importer, but the discs won’t be separated automatically. Multi-disc assistance is only available for releases imported using this tool. Submit the release and contact our Support team right away. We can help you set it up, as long as the release hasn’t been approved and delivered to stores yet.
If the release you want to move has already been taken down, you’ll need to upload it again from scratch. To give stores the best chance of matching it with the original release, make sure the ISRCs, track order, titles, artist names, audio files, original release date and other release details match the previous version exactly.
You can try Release Importer without a subscription, but you’ll need an active Amuse subscription to submit your release to stores.
