You can delete an artist from your account, but there are a few important rules to keep in mind:
Artists without releases: Only artists who have no releases associated with them can be deleted.
Artists with taken-down releases: If an artist has releases that were taken down, they cannot be deleted. This is because royalties may still be pending from the stores. Royalties can take 2 to 6 months to be paid, and deleting the artist would prevent us from properly paying them.
In short, if an artist has ever had a release available in stores, they cannot be deleted from an account.
If the release has never been in stores (for example, it's not approved or in review), you must first delete the release from your account to be able to delete the artist. More information about deleting releases can be found here.
How to delete an artist:
If the artist meets the criteria above, follow these steps to delete them:
Log in to your account on our web page. (Not available on the iOS or Android apps).
Click on the Artist tab.
Select the artist you want to delete.
Click Delete Artist.
If you don’t see a Delete Artist button, it means the artist doesn’t meet the criteria for deletion. In these cases, our Support team won’t be able to remove it for you.
