When you transfer already released music to Amuse from another aggregator and you want to keep the streams and artist profile in the stores, there are a couple of things to think of to get it right. Below are some pointers to successfully move a release to Amuse:
- The track title, the track length, the actual audio file and the ISRC code MUST be the same for it to count as the same recording. Make sure you gather all this information before you start, if you're not sure you can always ask your previous aggregator for the info.
- Make sure to add the original ISRC codes when uploading the track(s) in the Amuse app, if you don't we will create new ISRC codes for you and the streams won't sync.
Also, If you want to add the original release date (Year-Month-Day), you need to fill out our web form and we'll add the date to the release. Soon this will be possible to do by yourself when uploading.
- Check the release in the stores when it is live. You can now verify that the Amuse release and the previous release have the same stream count. Keep in mind that this might take a couple of days.
- You contact the previous aggregator and ask them to take their release down. To have the music out from both sources at the same time simplifies the transition and potential mistakes can then be corrected to match the original release.
If these steps are followed, the tracks will keep the streams and stay on the artist profile, the tracks will be exchanged to the Amuse tracks in all playlists which will make it safe to remove the release from the previous aggregator.
Again, it can take a few days until all streams are synched. If you are 100% sure you've followed the above steps and the stream count doesn't synch after 1 week of being live please reach out to our support and we'll contact Spotify for you.
As soon as the release has been taken down from the previous distributor, we will start to collect the royalties. Until then, all royalties go through the previous distributor. Keep this in mind before closing down your account at any previous aggregator.
We will be right by your side this whole process so just let us know if you need any assistance.
