An ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier) is a unique 16-character ID that helps distinguish you from other artists and contributors, especially people with the same or a similar name. Adding your ISNI can help platforms identify you correctly and connect your releases and credits to the right person.
Adding an ISNI is recommended, but not required. If you don't have one, you can still continue without it.
How do I find my ISNI?
You may already have an ISNI without knowing it. If you have published work available through library or commercial databases, an ISNI may already have been assigned to you through one of the databases that provides information to ISNI.
Before getting a new one, search for your name in the official ISNI database to check if you already have one.
If you find an ISNI assigned to you, make sure the information connected to it matches you and your work before using it.
What if I don't have an ISNI?
The official ISNI website has instructions for getting an ISNI for yourself, your organization or group.
Before getting started, it's a good idea to have details about your released music or other creative work ready. This information can help confirm your public identity and make sure the ISNI is connected to the right person or organization.
