Set up Meta to use Promote

Get your Meta account set up and ready to run ads with Promote.

Before you can run ads with Promote, you'll need to connect a few things in Meta. You may already have some of these set up if you've used Facebook or Instagram for your music before.

Here’s what you’ll need.

1. Facebook account

You'll need a Facebook account to connect and authorize Amuse.

If you already have one, use your existing account rather than creating another one.

Your personal Facebook profile won't appear in your ads. Your artist's Facebook Page and Instagram account are what people will see.

2. Meta Business Portfolio

Your Business Portfolio brings everything you need for advertising together, including your ad account, Facebook Page, Instagram account and Meta Pixel.

Tip: If you manage several artists or a small label, you can name your Business Portfolio after your label. If you're managing one artist, using your artist name can make things easier to keep track of.

3. Facebook Page

You'll need a Facebook Page for your artist and it needs to be connected to your Business Portfolio.

Your Page will appear as the advertiser when your ads run on Facebook, so make sure your profile image and artist information are up to date.

4. Instagram professional account

To run ads on Instagram, you'll need an Instagram professional account, either Business or Creator, connected to your Business Portfolio.

If your artist account isn't professional yet, Meta will guide you through switching it during setup.

Your Instagram account will appear as the advertiser for ads running on Instagram.

5. Meta ad account

You'll also need an active ad account connected to your Business Portfolio.

If you don't have one yet, follow Meta's guide to create or add an ad account.

Before connecting it to Amuse, make sure:

  • The ad account is active and isn't restricted.

  • It has a valid payment method. Follow Meta's guide to add a payment method.

  • Your advertiser and payer information is complete for the regions you want to target.

Your ad spend is billed directly by Meta using the payment method connected to your ad account.

You can manage advertiser and payer information under Ads Manager → Advertising settings → Verifications and ad transparency.

6. Meta Pixel

You'll need a Meta Pixel to track activity from your ads and help Meta optimize your campaigns.

If you don't already have one, follow Meta's guide to create a dataset for your Pixel.

Then connect the dataset to your ad account under:

Business settings → Data Sources → Datasets & pixels → [Your dataset] → Connected assets

If you manage several artists, we recommend using a separate dataset for each artist. This keeps the campaign data for each project separate and helps Meta learn which audiences engage with that artist over time.

7. Connect Meta to Amuse

Once everything is ready in Meta, head to Promote in the Amuse web app and select Continue with Facebook.

Follow the steps to connect your Business Portfolio and the assets you want to use.

Once connected, you're ready to start creating campaigns with Promote.
