Uploading music videos is currently limited to only Spotify, and is only available on our webpage for users in Sweden.
If you are eligible, the option to upload a music video to Spotify will be available from the Release button. Note that you can only upload a music video connected to a song that is currently live on Spotify, released through Amuse and is not a cover song.
To ensure optimal compatibility of your music video with Spotify and other future video stores, the video must adhere to the following:
Video requirements
Max file size: 20 GB
File format: .mov or .mp4
Codec: ProRes 422 HQ is preferred, but AVC/H.264 High profile is also accepted
Scan type: Progressive
Frame rate: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30
Frame rate mode: Fixed
Encoding: VBR (Variable Bit Rate)
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (recommended), 1440 x 1080 (minimum required)
Color space: Rec. 709
Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0 or 4:2:2
Chroma bit depth: 8-bit or 10-bit
GOP size: At least 1 keyframe every 60 seconds
Display aspect ratio: Video keeps the same ratio as it was sampled
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.0
Duration: Same length as the original track
Audio requirements
Number of audio channels: Stereo (2 audio channels)
Audio sampling rate: 48 kHz
Audio format: PCM
Audio bit depth: 16-bit, 24-bit
Other requirements
Thumbnail / Preview image
The image must be a still frame from the video
In a 16:9 aspect ratio
JPG or JPEG file format
File size of max 10 MB
Add the timestamp so the thumbnail can be verified in review
❌ No padding/black bars on the outer side of the image
❌ No logos or text
❌ No explicit content
❌ No images created/edited specifically for thumbnail purposes
Video content
Video is defined as the premium / MTV-style / primary official music video the artist creates to amplify the story of their track
The original song with audio only must be available on Spotify through Amuse first (e.g. live performance videos that aren’t also released as audio-only products are not accepted)
❌ Lyric videos / visualizers / pseudo style videos are not accepted
❌ Chyrons, static or scrolling lyrics, lower-third graphics, or lyrics displayed as subtitles are not accepted
❌ Medleys are not accepted. Music videos, including live videos, must contain only one song
❌ Video cannot contain release dates, QR codes, or advertisements

Ratings
AV Rating:
If a music video has been rated by a rating agency for age appropriateness, this rating must be included in the deliverables.
18+ Rating:
Please notify us (e.g. in file name) if your music video contains:
Suicide and self-harm, including disordered eating
Substance use, misuse, or abuse
Graphic, shocking, or violent content
Sexual content and nudity
Repeated or prolonged visual profanity or vulgar language
