Apple Music now requires detailed song credits for all new releases. Here’s what you need to do to stay compliant and ensure a smooth release with Amuse.
What’s Changing?
From now on, every track released to Apple Music must include:
At least one Performer credit (e.g., a vocalist or instrumentalist)
At least one Production & Engineering credit (e.g., a producer, mixer, or recording engineer).
Previously, these credits were optional - but now, they’re mandatory.
How This Affects Your Releases on Amuse
To make things easier, we’ve updated our release builder:
The Contributors section is now divided into two required fields:
Performer credits (e.g., Vocals, Guitar, Drums, etc.)
Production & Engineering credits (e.g., Producer, Mixing Engineer, Mastering Engineer, etc.)
You must add at least one name in each section before submitting your release.
Names must be in First name Last name format, except for Producers, who can use an alias (artist name) and link their artist profile.
New Contributor Roles Available
Important: Most of the new contributor roles will initially only be displayed on Apple Music, as very few music services display song credits at this time. Later on, as more services start displaying song credits, this metadata will become visible there too.
To help you provide accurate credits, we’ve added more role options:
