Updated over a month ago

What is Stream Check?

Stream Check is our innovative tool designed to help artists monitor and protect their tracks from artificial streaming activity on Spotify. With Stream Check, you can identify which tracks have reported artificial activity, empowering you to take action with this previously unavailable information. Amuse is proud to offer this exclusive service to our artists, allowing you to address suspicious activity and avoid potential consequences.

Why is Stream Check important?

Stream Check is a valuable tool to help artists stay ahead of potential artificial streaming activity before it escalates. By addressing these issues early, you can avoid serious consequences such as having your music removed, losing royalties, or facing fines and account closures.

How does it work?

Amuse gathers data from Spotify and provides you with regular reports on any artificial streaming activity detected. Stream Check highlights the tracks where artificial streaming activity has been reported, often due to the use of promotional services promising playlist placements and streams.

When is it reported?

Artificial streaming is reported at the end of each month, with a 2-month delay. For example, if you have plays on your tracks in April, the Stream Check report will be available at the end of June. This delay allows us to compile accurate and comprehensive data. Note that Stream Check focuses on Spotify; other stores may affect your royalties or Amuse account but are not included in this report at the moment.

What should I do if I receive a report?

Regardless of whether your report indicates Low, Medium, or High levels of artificial streaming, it's crucial to take action. Here are the steps you should follow:

  1. Research Promotional Services: Before hiring any music promotion services, make sure to do thorough research.

  2. Cancel Suspicious Campaigns: Stop any ongoing campaigns with promotional services that guarantee playlist additions or streams.

  3. Report Unusual Activity: Notify Spotify or the relevant stores about any suspicious activity.

  4. Review Playlists: Check the playlists your music has been added to and request takedowns from any suspicious ones, either by contacting the playlist editor or using Spotify's playlist reporter form here.
