Changes in an artist's release are not something we want to do but need to do to get it accepted into the stores. We only do changes in a release to accommodate the guidelines of the stores. We only do this so the releases will get accepted into the stores.
Thee are some examples of the kind of changes we do:
- Capitalization: Titles must not be in all capitals, all lower case, or random casing. We make changes according to the requirements for the language.
Read more about Titles and Capitalization here.
- Featured artists are moved from the title to the field for featured artists. In the stores, you will see the featured artist next to the title. Read more about Featured artists here.
NEW RULE from the stores: We will not approve a release if the Featured artist appears as Primary on the artwork. We will need to change the role of the artist to Primary to approve the release. If it is a featured artist it should state ft./feat/featuring and not x/&/and on the artwork. Read more about a second primary here.
- Versions are moved from the title to the field for versions. Versions are for example Intro, Outro, Interlude, Remix etc. Unnecessary versions and versions not allowed by all stores like Original Mix and Limited Edition are removed altogether. Read more about Versions here.
-Abbreviation of Part and Volume: Volume 1 will be changed to Vol. 1, Part 1 will be changed to Pt. 1.
- YouTube might be removed for Content ID. Read more about YouTube here.
